Our vision is "open" from a hardware point of view and from a software one. Open-hardware because we use the best we can, extremely weel-known and widespread technologies and components, as the ones available on the very wide personal computing market, and we obtain high standards of reliability and performances, working on architectures (redundancy, multicomputers...) instead of using expensive proprietary technologies. Open-software because we base our solutions basicly on open-source software, which has reached quality and availability standards such as to be used in professional activities with high levels of reliability, productivity and reduction in prices.

The world of open-source software is nowadays a model of development and spread of software with huge success and extent, thanks most of all to the availability of GNU/Linux operating system.

• Technology: the most common open-source software packages are developed and maintained by virtual internet communities, which are often very large: for this reason, the quality of this software is excellent, because of continuous testing developers and users perfom during project life; this takes to high standards of reliability, stability, efficiency, flexibility and security.
• Savings: open-source software can be freely used and distributed without any licence fee and use restriction: this means savings due to the asbsence of use and renewal licence fees and a greater simplicity in managing software pools thanks to the absence of limits on the number of possible installations.
• Support: documentation and aid for open-source software are strong points, in spite of what we could think: collaborative development model is based on knowledge sharing and this makes huge amounts of information reachable on web sites, user manuals, online "how-to", newsgroups, mailing-lists etc available on Internet.

The world of open-source is also very diverse and well-constructed and there are often many options choosing a particular software. On the one hand, this is certainly a wealth element, on the other hand it requires skills and knowledge to find the way among available projects, at different levels of development, maturity and distribution.
